Gambler’s Anonymous is a self-supporting organization, which is funded through contributions from their members. Their primary purpose is to help compulsive gamblers stop gambling. Should you feel unsure about having a problem, take their 20-question quiz to help you decide.

GamCare is a charity, registered in the UK. Their mandate is to “promote responsible attitudes towards gambling and to work for the provision of proper care for those harmed by a gambling dependency”. Their main functions are to provide information, offer advice and to help address the social impact of gambling. GamCare offers a wide variety of print publications as well as an online forum where you can discuss your own issues, ask questions or maybe offer advice to a fellow member. One of the forum features is a support/chat room, which is opened a few times a week for group discussions and led by a member of the GamCare team. As with many organizations, they also hold an annual conference.

The NCRG was founded in 1996 with the ultimate goal of the prevention and treatment of gambling disorders. They fund independent research and studies on problem and youth gambling. They offer access to various publications including an annual report that highlights each year’s research, Responsible Gaming Quarterly that is a joint publication of the NCRG and the AGA (American Gaming Association), and The Wager, which is a weekly online research bulletin. The NCRG also holds an annual nationwide conference on gambling and addiction.
