What's New!
Welcome back!  We've been on a bit of an extended vacation since our original launch back in 2006.  There have been quite a few developments within the online gambling industry since then and now is as good a time as any for us to pick up where we left off.  Stay tuned, we are working as fast as we can to keep you as informed as possible.

POKER PLAYER’S ALLIANCE

The PPA is an organization that is lobbying for the legalization and regulation of poker across the United States.  Their position is that poker is a game of skill as opposed to a game of chance (pure gambling), and as such should not be grouped in with other forms of online gaming.  You may sign up for membership and for their newsletter (delivered to your email inbox) .

There is also a direct link to an information page which lists media contacts, links to federal and state officials, and up-to-date info on current issues and legislation.

ONLINE GAMBLING RIGHTS

Online Gambling Rights is run by Debbie Richardson, who recently organized a successful pro-online gambling rally in front of the White House.  Richardson focuses not only on online gaming itself, but on citizen’s rights as “free” Americans.

ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL CASINO WEBMASTERS (APCW)

The founders of the APCW have been extremely pro-active and vocal in their opposition to the anti-gaming legislation.  The APCW has been producing weekly videos which give in-depth insight into the US online gambling legal situation .  These videos are being distributed to the public via YouTube.com and other internet venues, in an effort to bring the subject of gambling online into the mainstream consciousness. Their website offers an extensive list of media contacts, links to Congress and Senate contacts and links to all of their current videos.  There is also an email notification option available which will keep you up-to-date on new and existing legislation and any updates relevant to the issues.

AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION (ACLU)

While the ACLU has not taken a position in regards to online gaming, they are involved on the issue of “Internet Freedom”, and are lobbying against proposed legislation which would give ISP’s the option of blocking access to certain sites on the internet.  They do have a contact form available on their website, and perhaps if enough people voiced their concerns regarding the anti-gaming issue, they might be willing to take a look and see if it can be tied into the Internet Freedom Act.  Be sure to reference HR 4954 (Safe Port Act), and rather than emphasizing gambling itself, the focus would be better placed on the loss of the right to partake in an activity which is considered legal in many other forms in the U.S. (ie. Lotteries, horseracing, etc.)

ONLINE PETITION

A petition has been set up online for citizens of the United States to add their signatures to.  Copies of the petition will be forwarded to members of the Congress and the Senate.
