Final table of online tourney simulcast

After a gruelling 10 day schedule of poker competitions the Ultimate Bet Online Championship ended on a high note this week with the $1 000 000 Guaranteed Main Event.

The excitement and action at the final table was shared by a simulcast commentated by pros Phil Hellmuth and Nick Geber.

The big event attracted 1 400 players, each of whom bought in at $500 + 30 for the entry fee, delivering a $300 000 overlay - claimed to be one of the largest ever in the industry.  As a result, 140 players received at least a $1 000 check, and players competed fiercely for a first prize calculated at $211 500.

Players Fred420 and Maria Nuccia were the final contestants facing off in the heads up, with the former holding a dominant lead, but his opponent doubled through on a key hand to bring the match close to even, and the two players agreed on an equal split for the remaining prize money, and played on for the title and bragging rights.

After taking control by doubling through for almost all of the chips in play, Maria Nuccia claimed the title on a hand of A-7 to Fred420's A-3. A flopped seven sealed the hand for a delighted Nuccia. With the main prize split into $168 450 each, both players took good news home.
