BT Vision, a broadband subsidiary of British Telecom has announced its entry into the interactive gaming market via a joint venture with Two Way TV.
BT Vision is the UK telecom giant’s broadband TV service and the deal with Two Way makes a selection of soft games like puzzles available to customers of the service.
Although the initial offering is very much in the soft gaming field, BT Vision said it expects the offering to expand to include more specifically gambling related products in time.
“We are just at the start of the road map,” said a BT Vision spokesperson. “These games are not going to set the world alight. But we will be adding more elaborate games in time, including fixed odds betting products.”
Jean de Fougerolles, chief executive of Two Way TV, added: “We are starting with some great titles that have been tried and tested on cable and satellite, but we will quickly be taking advantage of the full capacity of the platform to add, for example, video-rich games.”
