Basketball stars ante up for Trent Tucker Hoopology event

Making the news this weekend at the Hard Rock Casino will be a slew of basketball stars signed up to compete in the $10 000 buy-in Trent Tucker Hoopology pokerfest. The contest carries forward a trend for celebrities to be involved in high profile poker tournaments to attract media attention.

With names like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, BJ Armstrong, and a slew of  former NBA greats, including the host Trent Tucker himself, the event should attract all the attention required as well as providing some great entertainment. Many top poker players will be involved, too including Patrik Antonius and Mike Sexton.

Proceeds from the event will accrue to the Trent Tucker Non Profit Organisation, and the evening winds up with a star-studded party at Hard Rock nightclub Body English.

Over in the music industry, the Hip Hop community is running a poker tournament at the Aladdin dubbed 'Poker With the Stars' which will take off Friday and should be plenty of fun. Featuring some of the biggest names in the Hip Hop genre, the $2 100 buy-in event will be limited to 80 players.
