"So far as it is able....."

Last week's news that the government of Antigua and Barbuda had obtained a court order restraining BetonSports from disposing of its Antiguan assets prompted a fast response from the besieged company, which advised that it intended to comply.

A company spokesman said that the directors of the company had noted the order issued by the high court in Antigua and Barbuda which prevents BoS (Antigua) Limited from disposing of any of its assets and orders BoS (Antigua) Limited to provide an account to the Financial Services Regulatory Commission of Antigua of all of its assets.

The spokesman said the company intends to comply with this order “so far as it is able”, adding that the order affects only the principally US-facing brands owned by BoS (Antigua) Limited.

BetonSports said its Asian-facing brands are not owned by BOS (Antigua) Limited and these continue to trade normally.
